Fluid dynamics-based distance estimation algorithm for macroscale molecular communication

Many species, from single-cell bacteria to advanced animals, use molecular communication (MC) share information with each other via chemical signals. Although MC is mostly studied in microscale, new practical applications emerge macroscale. It essential derive an estimation method for channel parameters such as distance macroscale systems which include a sprayer emitting molecules transmitter (TX) and sensor the receiver (RX). Due similarity between sneezing/coughing spraying mechanisms, these have potential be applied modeling airborne pathogen (viruses, bacteria, etc.) transmission perspective where infected human pathogen-laden droplets considered TX. In this paper, novel approach based on fluid dynamics proposed derivation of systems. According approach, transmitted are moving evaporating channel. With Fluid Dynamics-based Distance Estimation (FDDE) algorithm predicts propagation by updating diameter at time step proposed. FDDE validated experimental data. The results reveal that can estimated introduces volume fraction mixture air liquid beamwidth Furthermore, effect evaporation shown numerical results.
